Last year I went to Caribana and played Mas. Those of you who don’t know what that means. It means that i dressed up in the traditional costumes of Caribana (Carnival) and march the parade route with the music trucks. Caribana which is held in Toronto is much bigger then any Carnival Celebration in North America. I loved it, but this time I have to wait to go to Miami to play which sucks because i really like Toronto’s Festival a lot!
Anyway they posted this years costumes with the band section that i played with and won last year. The outfits are skimpier then i remember…but guess what its carnival…and i have time to lose a few fluffy pounds.
Check out the other designs

Hahaha this was the cutest thing ever! I couldn’t stop laughing!
I posted this because I love EVE from Day one. She is back, and she still got it!
Work It Bish…
I’m so ready for her premiere of Telephone, it’s suppose to come out on Thursday.
Check out this XO is an artist from D.C. and so is Raheem Devaughn. I like it. What do you think?
Sorry for the Shitty Video the Audio is way off on this one, but this is the only one I could find on YouTube.
Well can’t say ya’ll didn’t see this coming. Of course I will always support Mr. Wale. Check out Morgan in the video went to school with her, and I swear that other girl looks familiar. I don’t remember her name though.
Last night there was a lot of backlash on the selection of women portrayed in the video. While its no surprise that we lack darker skinned female leads in videos which is something that I will never understand. I do understand why people don’t but I don’t understand why people are so vain woman are beautiful in any shade. I’ll put it that way. I always believed that an artist should speak up when this happens, if he feels that the video isn’t what he wants. I’m sure he has seen the video before it aired
. I guess I was expecting to see a bunch of D.C. woman in this video , and not so many from Cali. I can honestly say that I don’t see people from Atlanta going other places to shoot their videos when it comes to their women not according to my friends in ATL. I know that Wale took a bit of time to get his name out there in Cali before he was signed. Don’t ask me how I know these things. I just do, and I do my research. The point is that I would have loved to see him bring Chris Robinson to D.C. and say lets have a casting call in D.C. and shoot a majority of the women from there. I would have loved to see the video possible in a G0-Go setting. So they can see how we get down. Its almost like they gave Go-Go a Hollywood facelift…when it was too young to have the procedure. I think the video if do correctly could have shined some light on D.C.’s lifestyle.
I saw Morgan for a hot second. I was surprised because behind the scenes footage showed her having more air time. My point is if it’s such a huge issue then maybe the Director and the Studios need to relieve so of that backlash. Maybe we need to speak up to people like Chris Robinson and tell him that he needs think outside the box of what a “Pretty Girl” is. They come in all shapes sizes, colors, and everything else. I don’t believe the blame should be shifted on just one person if it makes people unhappy but I also think the Director has a lot of say so. I don’t understand why the artist doesn’t. I know that a lot of artist write their own treatments for videos, and try their best to get the director to see their vision. Clearly this isn’t one of those situations where he had a lot of say so. Maybe it takes awhile for the artist to earn the right to have some say-so in their video.
“I did not think that the video represented what DC (go go) is about. When introducing “our” music (DC culture) to the world, I would love for it to be represented right. I have never seen those type of females at a Backyard show. And taking the light skin/dark skin issue out of the equation, I hardly saw any African-American women in it period. It just doesn’t reflect what I feel DC is about. I still see it as Chocolate City…lol” – Anonymous
I totally agree with what this person said above. I think we let a lot side, when it comes to representation. I’m not saying that we need to riot anything, but maybe it wouldn’t hurt to speak up when we feel like we aren’t represented to well. In a classy, educated and mature way. This is public information. I posted Chris Robinson information. Don’t worry this information I repeat is Public on his website. If you don’t like what he did with this video maybe you should tell him and maybe he will remember that the next time he does a Hip Hop video. I’m all for writing an old fashioned letter to him. Not Flooding the mans phone lines with non-sense since some people don’t know what the hell to say out their mouths. I know it sounds crazy, but long ago people wrote letters haha.

Still have love for Wale even though it seems like most of D.C. some pretty harsh opinions on him, at least that’s what I see a lot of the times. I see a lot of people posing for pictures with him , and then the next day they are on twitter they are talking shit about him. Then I see some real fans of his, who respect him as fresh talent. Those who don’t care who he is dating, but are only concerned with what he is saying. They actually care about what he is putting out about his craft. DC has some of the hardest critics, and its all about getting past that if you really want to go out and make a name for yourself.
~~That is all~~

DC.MD.VA tell me what you think? Do you have an issue with that video? Do you like it? Is it DC Enough…?

No to the Hat…i wonder who made the catsuit though, very nice craftsmen ship.

Okay I’m just wondering what the theme will be. It would be anything with a green screen in the background. I can’t wait to see it. I really like this song, even though I would have liked to see her do a video for RockStar 101.
Here is a recent Clip of Rihanna with WPGC.
On twitter today, happened to see and article is the Washington Post about Wale that kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I guess he wanted to make it a point to express his distaste for the woman walking about in spandex and wale’s baggy pants, then he went to say that the room was full of white camera men…I didn’t get it but anyway. I found these pictures from behind the scenes.
SHOUTOUT to Morgan who i went to school with. Check her out, she is an up and coming model.
